Invite Uprate's account

  1. Open Settings > Connections, find your app and click Connect next to Google Play.
  2. Copy the service account email that Uprate shows.
  3. Click Open Users and permissions and invite that email in Play Console.
  4. Under App permissions, select only the apps you want in Uprate and grant them Admin (all permissions) for the full setup. Account-level Admin is not needed.
  5. Back in Uprate, check access and connect the apps you selected.

You do not upload a key file for this.

What each feature needs

Reviews need access to the app, and replies need Reply to reviews. Presence needs Manage store presence. Submissions need the release permissions. Admin on the selected apps covers all of it.

For sales reports, open Revenue reports (optional) and enter only the name of the Cloud Storage bucket shown in Play Console > Download reports. Then give the service account account-level View financial data. These report files cover every app in your developer account.

Use your own service account

Some older workspaces can still connect their own service account under Using your existing service account? Set it up manually.

In Google Cloud, enable Google Play Android Developer API, create a service account without Cloud roles and download its JSON key. For crash and ANR data, also enable Google Play Developer Reporting API. Upload the key in Uprate, invite the service account in Play Console with access to the app, check the Android package name, then test and save.

Fix connection problems

  • Access is missing right after the invite: Google can take a while to apply it. Click Check now or Check again.
  • The app is missing: add it to the service account under Users and permissions.
  • Package error: check the Android package name.
  • An uploaded key is rejected: upload a fresh JSON key.
