Connect your app
- Open Settings > Connections, find your app and click Connect next to App Store Connect.
- Click Open Apple API keys and create an Admin Team key in App Store Connect.
- Download the
.p8file. Apple lets you download it only once. - Back in Uprate, upload the file under Upload your API key (.p8) and fill in the Issuer ID and Key ID. Uprate reads the Key ID from the file name when it can.
- Check the App Store app ID. It is the number after
idin your app's App Store URL. - Click Test access, review the result and click Save connection.
If you already saved a suitable key, you can reuse it.
What each key covers
An Admin Team key covers reviews, replies, listings in Presence, pricing and analytics. A Customer Support key covers reviews and replies only. Apple has no way to check reply permission before a reply is sent, so Uprate confirms it with your first reply.
An Individual key follows its Apple user's role and app access. It needs no Issuer ID and cannot reach Sales and Finance reports.
For sales reports, open Revenue reports (optional) and enter the Vendor Number from Apple's financial reports.
Fix connection problems
- Apple rejects the key: check the Issuer ID and Key ID. If the key was revoked, create a new one.
- The app is not found: check the app ID and use a key from the Apple team that owns the app.
- One feature lacks access: follow its permission message. The features that work stay connected.
- Apple asks for an agreement: the Account Holder accepts it in App Store Connect under Business > Agreements.
- A new key fails: Apple can take a while to activate it. Wait, then click Test again.
